A miniature rose in my garden, taken in November 2004. Cornwall is mild but we do get frosts and at times a bit of snow.

I thought it would be interesting to pick out some archive shots from my earlier days of digital photography, and this is the first photo I uploaded to Flickr in December 2004...

Back then I was not so careful with composition and ensuring the image was horizontal, so the very first version was rather slanted and was replaced.

This is the 2nd photo I uploaded on the same day, and has become one of my most popular shots...

I've been thinking for a while about starting a blog on blogger and so here it is. Not new to blogs as I've been writing my Barry Trek journal on Live Journal for some time. On LJ I write more about my life and thoughts, and maybe here it will be more about photos, and here is the first....

...after a very mild October we started November with some frosty weather in Cornwall, and I've had to turn my central heating on!
