April 2006 with visits to the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo and Padstow to see The Matthew

It's ages since I've updated here, had several problems with health and other things and found it difficult to cope with everything. Anyway, I'm going to try and update more often as I think it was a good idea to go back through my photo archives as I have been doing here so let's go back to April 2006 when on a visit to the
Eden Project I took this photo of an anemone...

...and in the Rainforest Biome took this shot of an Anole, a small green lizard...

On a visit to Newquay zoo I met Mr. Happy...

At the end of the month I went to Padstow to see the preparations for the May Day 'Obby 'Oss celebrations, and just as I was about to leave see The Matthew sailing up the Camel estuary...

The Matthew was there over the May Day bank holiday, and such a beautiful ship deserves another look...

I think May 2006 will be a rather long post as it's always a hectic month for me, with the May Day 'Obby 'Oss celebrations in Padstow and my annual holiday in the Lake District.

I went back to the Eden Project for the third time this month on Tuesday, and surprising how many new things you can pick up in just a few days. I'm really after one flower which I think is almost ready to bloom, so will head off down there again today. Meanwhile, here is another colourful flower, this time a dahlia from the Outdoor Biome...

In the archives from July 2005 I found this image, sepia and spot colour which I was quite pleased with...

Not a lot going on in July, most of the photos I uploaded were from earlier months - trying to catch up as usual!

I think I'm going to ignore how long it's been since I last posted here as it's getting rather embarrassing - I'll just make a mental note to do better! Before I go on to the archives I think I'll start each post with one of my latest photos and this is one that seems quite popular from the last week...

...an African Corn Lily (Ixia) from my October garden - they start flowering late summer and go on well into the Autumn.

Now back to the archives, and here I'm looking at April 2005, although this first one is from May 2004 and was taken on a train journey from my Lake District holiday...

...as usual I was catching up on the previous years photos on the run up to my holiday the next month in the Lake District National Park. The train journey was on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway which runs between Lakeside (S. end of Windermere) and Haverthwaite - the name is a bit of a giveaway :) It's an old steam railway and here is a shot taken at Lakeside station...

Another month just shot by! Now I'm looking back to March 2005 when I uploaded this springtime macro...
Garden_Z1412L ...a miniature tulip so it is a very close shot.

Another from March, this time from a trip to Truro on a lovely spring day...
