I'm getting better - twice in one week! Okay, to start another of my recent photos which is quite popular, a macro of water droplets on a cobweb from a few days ago...
Natures Jewellery Z19840
This was taken with my old Konica Minolta Dimage Z3 which seems to do a lot better than my newer Sony A100 dSLR - guess I need a better lens on that one.

Now another dip into the archives, and this time from May 2005. May is always a busy month, the weather is warming and nature is brightening up the scenery, so plenty to photograph and I spend 2 weeks in the Lake District so come back with maybe 2 or 3 thousand shots! But the month starts with May Day, and for that I like to go to Padstow for the 'Obby 'Oss celebrations...

The crowds following the two 'Oss through the town are amazing, a real crush but a great atmosphere with the music, singing and dancing...

At the end of the month, after my return from the Lake District, I was busy uploading some of the photos I had taken...

of the lakes and tarns (above: Goosey Foot Tarn in Grizedale Forest) and the villages...

I think I'm going to ignore how long it's been since I last posted here as it's getting rather embarrassing - I'll just make a mental note to do better! Before I go on to the archives I think I'll start each post with one of my latest photos and this is one that seems quite popular from the last week...

...an African Corn Lily (Ixia) from my October garden - they start flowering late summer and go on well into the Autumn.

Now back to the archives, and here I'm looking at April 2005, although this first one is from May 2004 and was taken on a train journey from my Lake District holiday...

...as usual I was catching up on the previous years photos on the run up to my holiday the next month in the Lake District National Park. The train journey was on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway which runs between Lakeside (S. end of Windermere) and Haverthwaite - the name is a bit of a giveaway :) It's an old steam railway and here is a shot taken at Lakeside station...

Another month just shot by! Now I'm looking back to March 2005 when I uploaded this springtime macro...
Garden_Z1412L ...a miniature tulip so it is a very close shot.

Another from March, this time from a trip to Truro on a lovely spring day...

...and springtime was in evidence in the fields near my home...

And another 3 months later....and again it doesn't seem that long. I will have to get my life sorted, I seem to be neglecting everything. Anyway, time to catch up with the 2 years ago photos - this first one from February 2005 although it was taken March 5th 2004 on St. Piran's Day in Truro. St. Piran is the patron saint of Cornwall.

This next photo was taken in February 2005, in my back garden and is one of my most popular photos...
A Bucket full of Clouds

Two years ago I had only been on Flickr for a few months so I was uploading many archive photos taken before I joined Flickr. This shot of a European Eagle Owl was taken in June 2004 at the Royal Cornwall Show...

Apart from archive photos I also found time to be a little creative...
